We all know our sister city Madison is known for its politics, education and lakes. You can add caring to the list, according to a new study.

A WalletHub study out Monday found that the City of Madison is the second most caring city in the U.S.A. Milwaukee is also pretty caring, according to the report. Brew City came in at #54 in the report, alongside Cincinnati, Jacksonville and Anchorage.

Perhaps a surprise to some, the City of Boston came in at #1 as the most caring city in the states, the report finds. Beantown was followed by Madison, and New York City came in at third place, followed by Fremont, Virginia Beach and St. Paul, Minnesota.

The least caring cities in the country, according to the report? Birmingham came in last, preceded by Tulsa, San Bernardino and Houston.

Wallethub considered the cities based on caring for the community, caring for the vulnerable and caring in the workforce. They then evaluated those dimensions based on 36 metrics, which are listed in the report.
