Lyft provides free rides to Milwaukee cooling centers

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee is under an excessive heat warning until Saturday, and residents are working to find ways to stay cool.

Lyft is offering discounted rides to Milwaukee cooling centers through Sunday.

The company is offering two rides per person, with a discount of $15 offeach trip to a Milwaukee-area cooling center.

The Salvation Army is opening two cooling centers in Milwaukee County:

Citadel Corps Church and Community Center
4129 W. Villard Ave., Milwaukee
Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Coldspring Church and Community Center
2900 W. Coldspring Road, Greenfield
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
