MADISON — The Madison Fire Department is responding to a large fire at an electric substation just east of the state capitol, according to officials.
Report of fire at MG&E substation, 10 N. Livingston, please stay out of area. Roads in vicinity being closed.

Video from the scene shows thick clouds of smoke originating from a building near the intersection of E. Washington and Blair streets. Police are requesting that people avoid the area.
