MILWAUKEE -- Businesses in Bay View were vandalized in graffiti over the weekend, but the co-owner of Rush Mor Records fired back with some art of his own.

Bill Swinger wrote a note back above the vulgar word (which we have blurred out), which reads "Hey Bay View, check me out. I've got no artistic talent or new ideas."

The vandalism happened near S. Kinnickinnic and Potter at about 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

"I was irritated and I thought I'd leave them a message," Swinger says. "I don't know if they're going to come back and check out their work so I wanted to tell them how it was."

TODAY'S TMJ4 found buildings still left with some vulgar writing stuck to the brick alleyways. Sven's European Cafe's work van was hit, and another smoke shop owner's truck was completely tagged. They're now both cleaned up.

Alderman Tony Zielinski says he's waiting to hear back from police to learn more about how they're investigating the incident.
