After Milwaukee Police officer Matthew Rittner was shot and killed in the line of duty this week, the community has come in droves to show support for the family and the department.
Here’s a list of examples of the community stepping up to support law enforcement this week:
- Donations for Rittner’s family can be made at any TCF Bank
- Man drops off cookies for Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, saying they are ‘appreciated'
- Jen’s Sweet Treats donates all sales to Rittner’s family Feb. 12
- Milwaukee Lights Up Blue To Honor Fallen MPD Officer [PHOTOS]
- The Packing House Restaurant will hold a fundraiser Feb. 22, donating 10 percent to the Rittner Family.
- Doc's Commerce Smoke is planning a benefit to honor families of Rittner and the other two MPD officers killed in the line of duty in the past eight months.
- Ultimate Confections in Wauwatosa is selling chocolate badges to raise money for the Milwaukee Police Association's Fallen Heroes Fund.
There has also been a GoFundMe created in the officer's honor.
