Lift for the 22 Fundraising event helping Milwaukee area veterans

The Coronavirus Pandemic has left businesses and organizations scrambling to stay afloat. Many closing their doors, canceling events, putting a strain on the livelihood of employees and patrons.

Lift for the 22 - Milwaukee has just scheduled their first fundraising event since the pandemic began. The in-person event will allow a limited number of people inside to allow for proper social distancing. It is a casual gala that will include live music and a silent auction.

The Lift MKE Gala will be held at The Explorium Brewpub in the Third Ward located at 143 W. Saint Paul Avenue. It's taking place on November 7th, 2020 at 7:00 pm.

Tickets are required to attend and cost $20.00 or $15.00 if you bring a nonperishable food donation. To purchase tickets click here.

Dan Newberry, Executive Director for Lift for the 22 tells TMJ4 News that proceeds will benefit Lift for the 22 and the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative. Attendees are also invited to take part in a nonperishable food drive by bringing donations of nonperishable foods to the event.

Lift for the 22 is a veteran organization that aims to provide gym memberships to veterans as a way to help veterans transition to civilian life. With more than 500 gyms nationwide, veterans receive a sort of therapy to help combat the statistic of 22 veterans dying by suicide every day in the U.S. To learn more about Lift for the 22 and how you can support them click here.
