Wis. Department of Justice investigates deadly Kenosha crash

A chase that ended in a deadly crash in Kenosha is being investigated by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation.

The DOJ said that Kenosha police officers were investigating a shooting incident Wednesday evening when they located a car matching the description of a suspect. Police said the suspect fled.

The suspect was traveling northbound on Sheridan Road at Highway 158 when the person crashed into a civilian vehicle. The driver of the suspect car died at the scene.

The Kenosha Police Department officers involved are being placed on administrative leave during the investigation, per department policy.

The DOJ Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation and is being assisted by the Kenosha Police Department, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Kenosha County Medical Examiner.
