KENOSHA COUNTY -- A couple was seriously injured after being struck by a drunk driver on their way home from dinner Saturday.
According to the criminal complaint, Jacob A. Zizzo struck the couple's vehicle in the Town of Brighton, Wis. near the intersection of County Highway JB and State Highway 75, causing multiple, serious injuries to Robert S. Ryan and Cynthia A. Ryan.
Robert sustained multiple cuts on his head, as well as a C2 fracture. He received around 30 stitches for his injuries.
Cynthia was knocked unconscious and received a fractured pelvis, wrist fracture and 15 stitches on her elbow and right eye.
Zizzo admitted to the officer that he had been "drinking a lot." He was on his way home from the Tin Cup Tavern. His PBT test indicated a .225.
Zizzo was charged with eight counts of driving while intoxicated related offenses.
