MILWAUKEE — A 27-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, resisting/obstructing an officer and operating while under the influence about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Academy of Accelerated Learning, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
The suspect, who is the parent of a student, allegedly came to the school intoxicated.
When the school, located at 3727 S. 78th St., would not let the parent take the student, the suspect created a disturbance while breaking items in the school, MPD said in a news release.
Here is the statement from Milwaukee Public Schools:
"Yesterday, an incident took place involving a parent of a student. To ensure student and staff safety, the school day was modified and police were contacted. Students and staff remained in their classrooms for a short time as a precaution.
"The situation was moved outside and was under control by the time police arrived."
