A Kenosha City Alderman has been arrested and is in the Racine County Jail Tuesday.
Giampiero John Ruffolo was taken into custody Tuesday morning according to neighbors. The Wisconsin Department of Justice confirms there is an investigation ongoing but haven’t offered details. A spokesperson for the DOJ said Ruffolo will be in Kenosha District Court Wednesday.
Racine County Jail records show that Ruffolo is being held on potential stalking charges, but no charges have been filed yet.
Neighbors said they saw sheriff’s deputies search Ruffolo’s house and take out computers and other evidence around 8:30 a.m. He was later seen being put in the back of a sheriff’s cruiser.
TODAY’s TMJ4 contacted the city of Kenosha. The communications director for the city said she was unaware of the arrest.
