JANESVILLE -- A Janesville man was arrested for his 6th OWI offense Friday afternoon.
Officers were sent to the intersection of W. Burbank and S. Oakhill just after 2:00 p.m. Friday to check on a man sleeping in a vehicle.
When they arrived, they found a maroon pickup truck parked and running in the intersection, blocking traffic. Inside the truck, officers discovered the man, who was no longer asleep, had a hypodermic needle in his lap and "exhibited signs of being impaired by narcotic drugs."
After admitting his drug use to officers, he was taken into custody. Police found marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia in the man's truck as well.
The man has five prior OWI convictions, and a valid driver's license. He's being held at the Rock County Jail until his next court appearance.
