GERMANTOWN -- It's Orange Friday.
Hundreds of hunters were seen stocking up on all the necessary supplies at Mills Fleet Farm in Germantown this morning -- including ammo, camo, food and hand warmers -- ahead of the gun deer season.
The gun deer season begins Saturday. The Department of Natural Resources confirms around 400,000 licenses were bought across the state this year.

The nine-day hunting period will start off with a bang. Winter weather could affect travel and make for some uncomfortable stake outs in the forest.
Snow showers will also reduce visibility. However, there is at least one advantage. Meteorologists say this will be a wet snow, so deer could leave some tracks and the wind won't blow them away.
Also important to note: For the first time this year, hunters can no longer register their kill by paper. Instead, they must do so online through the DNR website or through the DNR's "Pocket Ranger" app.
