MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County's controversial sheriff, David Clarke, will leave this summer to take a position with the Department of Homeland Security, WISN-AM first reported Wednesday.
Clarke is no stranger to headlines and media attention. Though he has been sheriff since 2002, the self-proclaimed "People's Sheriff" has garnered a passionate conservative following on social media over the last couple years, and national television appearances followed.
