MADISON -- Authorities say an inmate at the Dane County Jail locked a deputy in a cell and made threats with a weapon he had made from a Scrabble game.
Sheriff's officials say the male inmate was confined to the day room of the cell block Wednesday and another deputy was able to convince him to give up the knife-like weapon he had whittled from a Scrabble game letter tray.
WISC-TV reports the inmate has a history of behavioral and mental health issues and had previously been in solitary confinement because those issues.
