Illinois driver flips off, eludes police in Thursday chase

RACINE — An Illinois man was arrested on Thursday after he led police on a chase down I-94 and flipped them off during the pursuit.

According to police, a 33-year-old Illinois man flew past police on Thursday going 95 mph in a 70 mph zone.

The driver then lead police on a chase that involved dangerous, evasive maneuvers according to police. At one point, the driver stuck his hand out the window and showed his middle finger to the deputies.

Additionally, police saw the driver on his cell phone during the pursuit. Racine police believes he may have been recording.

After the short pursuit, the vehicle pulled over to the shoulder of I-94 and police took the suspect into custody.

A K-9 searched the vehicle and found 14.5 grams of marijuana in addition to prescription pills.

The suspect underwent a field sobriety test and failed. He was arrested for an OWI.
