MILWAUKEE — Candice Macl is admittedly a little shaken but thankful to be alive.

She said around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, she was putting something in her car when a man approached her with a gun and demanded she get naked. Candice said she complied with the man’s request, hoping he wouldn’t shoot her.

“He said get naked and I never broke eye contact with him. I thought in my head maybe he won’t kill me if I keep eye contact,” said Candice.

She said once he started to walk her behind a house, she knew she had to make a split-second decision, she ran in a zig-zag pattern and screamed for help.

“If he shoots me, I might get hit, I might die. Maybe I won’t but if I follow him down there, I am getting raped and he may still kill me and I was like no, I’ll take my chances,” said Candice.

Just a few hours later, near Oakland and North, Police say a woman was approached by a man with the same description. Investigators said the man pushed her down but she was able to fight off her attacker. Authorities believe both incidents are connected.

Candice said she is sharing her story to remind other women to be on the lookout and vigilant.

“You got to be able to hear and see your surroundings and I wasn’t doing that at the moment,” said Candice.

Milwaukee police said the suspect in both incidents has a medium build, 5'10" to 6'0" tall, between 175 to180 lbs, and his hair was in 1-2 inch french cornrows on the top of his head and short hair on the sides. He was last seen wearing a red and gray long-sleeved shirt, possibly light gray sweatpants, and a black cloth face mask.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Milwaukee police.
