Huge decline in airline passengers traveling through MKE this year

MILWAUKEE — It seems people listened to the warning not to travel for Christmas this holiday.

More than 10,000 people were screened through the TSA December 28, 2019. Today, we are projected to hit about 4,800.

The TSA provided us with these numbers, comparing each day to last year’s numbers. This year’s Christmas Eve was down by about 60-percent compared to last year.
Despite being 68 years old, Diane Tranberg decided to fly to see her family in Texas. She explains why, “We had COVID. We got through it.”

She along with many other passengers we spoke to are taking with them, hope for a better year ahead.
