MILWAUKEE -- The images of damage caused by Hurricane Harvey are hitting too close to home for one Milwaukee woman, who moved back to Wisconsin after living in Texas.
Brittany White moved back from Houston, a week before Hurricane Harvey hit.
She told TODAY'S TMJ4 she is now glued to the news. She said looking at the images is surreal to her.
White has been in contact with her family still in the Houston area, who told her they have no place to go but are still dry at this point.
"I feel bad that I left because I would try to be out there helping," White said.
She believes a higher power may have called her to leave Texas earlier than planned.
"God. He protects me from the seen and unforeseen cause that's the only explanation I have," White said.
What is so amazing about White's story is that when she left, there was not even a whisper of Harvey's threat yet.
