MUKWONAGO -- A war veteran is taking care of his wife even though he's gone. From the driveway to the deck and everything in between, Barb Saladin hardly recognizes her home.

"Just overwhelmed with the whole deal," explained Barb Saladin, Home Owner.

With help from local businesses, Barb's Home Depot family helped renovate her entire home. It was a promise the store manager in Mukwonago made before Barb's husband Joe passed away from cancer in October. He was 77.

"I was sitting at the dinner table with Joe and Barb and Joe looked at me and said, my biggest fear is when I'm gone Barb is going to be left all alone with this to take care of by herself and I was able to look at him confidently and say don't worry about it," said Jeff Boss, Home Depot Store Manager in Mukwonago.

A relationship Joe had with the Home Depot employees turned into nearly 70 volunteers making Barb's dream home a reality in three days.

"He's probably saying that now up there that he can't believe it," said Saladin.
