Heavy fire destroys vacant house in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Firefighters extinguished a fire in a vacant home early Saturday morning in Fond du Lac, according to the City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue.

Around 3 a.m. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to 222 W. Arndt St. after a report of fire coming out of the back of a house.

The house experienced substantial fire damage. A damage estimate has not been released at this time.

Alliant Energy was on scene to handle utility control. The American Red Cross provided assistance to fire crews. Fond du Lac police were also on scene to control traffic.

The fire is currently under investigation. No firefighter injuries were reported, according to the City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue.
