Tortoise on the loose! The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha (HAWS) is housing a lost tortoise.
The tortoise was found on Cottonwood Avenue in Hartland.
The Society posted a photo of the tortoise on their Facebook page.
HAWS said they are unable to take requests for animals via Facebook, but they've had plenty of takers in the comment section.
Comments include, "PLEASE let me no if he needs a home!" and one woman who said she never lets her tortoise in the yard because "They move fast and can disappear into the brush." Apparently, tortoises aren't as slow as they're made out to be.
