The status of a popular Grafton music teacher remains in limbo after school officials met for several hours Monday night without reaching a decision.

Bob Maronde was placed on paid leave last month and told his contract wouldn't be renewed. Maronde says he was just disciplining disruptive 5th graders.

After a 4-hour closed door meeting, the school board president told TODAY’s TMJ4 that the Maronde issue will take time, and that attorneys are involved and working on a resolution.

A large group of Maronde supporters turned out for the closed-door meeting, and expressed frustration that they weren’t told in advance that a resolution would not be reached Monday.
Another meeting is scheduled for Monday, although and emergency board meeting may be called before than.
