Gov. Evers, state officials to hold news conference on coronavirus pandemic in Wisconsin Thursday

Gov. Tony Evers will host a news conference Thursday morning to discuss updates to the state's response to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

The news conference is happening at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Madison. Gov. Evers will be joined with Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, Department of Health Services (DHS) Secretary-designee Andrea Palm, Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) Administrator Dr. Darrell Williams, and Brig. Gen. Joane Mathews of the National Guard.

This comes as three more people tested positive for coronavirus in Wisconsin, bringing the total of active cases to five.

One of those cases was in Waukesha County. According to DHS, the Waukesha patient was exposed to the virus while traveling in the U.S. and internationally.

Two other patients, both in Fond du Lac County, were exposed while traveling, one in the U.S. and another internationally. One person is being hospitalized.
