Google launches map to help Wisconsin residents find local support for addiction

MILWAUKEE — Google is expanding tools to help people, including in southeastern Wisconsin, who are suffering from addiction.

One of those tools is the new 'Recovery Resource Map.' After you plug in your zip code and the kind of recovery group you seek, the map shows what resources are available in your area - and how to contact them.

The tool also shows what is available virtually and in-person, amid coronavirus concerns.

Google says its searches for “how to get clean” reached an all-time high in June, and “how to get sober” spiked in June and in August.

In the past month, searches for “rehab near me” hit their second-highest peak in recorded history, according to Google.
