Posted

Several good Samaritans helped remove an unconscious man from his burning vehicle after an accident on Saturday.

The 31-year-old man was traveling westbound on STH 20 in Mount Pleasant when he entered the intersection at CTH V and struck a vehicle traveling south.

Mount Pleasant Police say his vehicle came to rest in a ditch when it started on fire. The good Samaritans pulled him out of the vehicle prior to officer arrival.

Officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, as well as the South Shore Fire Department, responded to the scene around 7 a.m.

The driver was then transported to Froedtert Hospital. He is currently in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle he hit was transported to Ascension Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say driver impairment is not believed to be an issue in this case, and no citations have been issued.
