MILWAUKEE — As the Milwaukee Brewers open their season against the St. Louis Cardinals, the "5 for $5" burger deal from George Webb Restaurants is back.

When the Brewers score five or more runs, home or away, George Webb Restaurants will offer five burgers for $5 through midnight the next day.

George Webb once promised the hometown team would win 12 games in a row, and when that happened, he would grill free hamburgers.

The first giveaway of that kind happened in 1987. The second giveaway took place last season.

“Last season brought us an opportunity to celebrate and fulfill the promise of our founder with the next generation of fans,” said Ryan Stamm, vice president of George Webb Restaurants. “This season, we hope to see another year of twelve straight wins and will be ready to once again fire up the grill!”
