Posted

Franklin police officers chased a suspect into an apartment complex Wednesday morning, which led to a second pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

Police say officers attempted to stop the driver of a Pontiac G6 on Drexel Avenue, when the suspect tried to flee.

Police pursued the driver, who crashed the car and damaged residents' property in the nearby apartment complex. The driver got out of the car and fled on foot.

While searching for the driver, a resident told police a Dodge Durango was stolen from the their driveway, sending officers on a second chase.

Police tried to pursue the stolen vehicle, which headed east on Rawson Avenue. However, the chase was called off due to high speeds and heavy traffic.

Authorities say they originally attempted to stop the driver of the Pontiac for suspended registration and possible warrants.

Police say the Durango may have a flat tire.

Officers are searching the area for the driver or drivers of the two vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Franklin Police Department.
