MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A former University of Wisconsin-Madison employee is accused of stealing nearly $114,000 from the school.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports 54-year-old Kevin O'Donnell faces 12 felony and two misdemeanor charges for allegedly stealing the money while working as a purchasing manager for the Division of University Housing.

A criminal complaint says he funneled cash through fake companies, cashed fraudulent checks and made personal purchases. He was fired in March 2017 after the thefts were uncovered.

The complaint says O'Donnell stole cash and property between July 2014 and February 2017.

O'Donnell had been out of jail on a signature bond. A pretrial hearing was held Friday.
