FOND DU LAC — A Fond du Lac man is dead after the moped he was driving was hit by a Studebaker over the weekend.

A preliminary investigation from Fond Du Lac police found that 62-year-old Thomas L. Norton failed to yield to incoming traffic on Forest Avenue and South Pioneer Road last Saturday morning.

That's when he was hit by a 1962 Studebaker traveling on South Pioneer Road.

Norton, suffering from live-threatening injuries, was brought to Fond du Lac County Airport, where he was transported by helicopter to Theda Care Regional Medical Center. By Saturday afternoon, Norton had passed away from his injuries.

The driver of the Studebaker, a 74-year-old North Fond du Lac man, was not injured, according to police.
