VILLAGE OF ROCHESTER -- A fire damaged the Franciscan Missions in the Village of Rochester just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning with six people inside.

"The fire alarm went off and we got out of the room. There was a lot of smoke around, so the first thing we did was rush out of the building and call 911," said Father Deangelis, with the Franciscan Missions.

Investigators believe the fire started in a downstairs office. The cause could be electrical, possible a malfunction with a ceiling fan. Damage is estimated at $75,000.

The missions is an organization that spreads help around the world. Missionaries from all around stay there. They build houses, churches, hospitals and schools. Plus, thety collect money for other charities.

"Right now, we are trying to collect money for Syria. We're helping people down in Ecuador. Particularly, a group of children with AIDS," said Father Deangelis.

The inside of the mission has a lot of smoke and water damage. For now, the missionaries will stay down the road at the monastery.
