Milwaukee police are investigating the circumstances that led to a fatal shooting near 1st and Maple in the early hours of Monday morning.
Officers responded to shots fired around 1:20 a.m. in the 1700 block of S. 1st Street. An adult male was found suffering from a serious gunshot wound, police say.
Lifesaving efforts were performed but the victim died on the scene.
The fatal shooting marks the 100th homicide in Milwaukee in 2018.
