MILWAUKEE — A driver hit a pole, walked into freeway traffic and was struck and killed by a semi-truck along I-41/I-894 Friday morning.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says the woman hit a pole with her car on the National Avenue off-ramp on the freeway, around 9 a.m.
The driver, appearing 'dazed,' then walked into traffic when she was hit by the semi, according to the MCSO.
Deputies found the victim unresponsive with injuries to her head and legs. West Allis firefighters later pronounced her dead at the scene.
The freeway in that area was closed from just after 9 a.m. until noon Friday.
MCSO's Criminal Investigative Division is investigating the fatal incident.
