A Milwaukee family is pleading for a driver to come forward after they struck and killed 36-year-old Latichia Alexander without stopping to help.

"She was struck by a driver that cared less about rather she was ok or not," said Steve Hardin Senior, father.

Hardin last saw his daughter a couple weeks ago and never imagined it would be the last time.  Alexander was in the road near 28th Street and Lisbon Avenue when a driver hit the mother of seven and left her to die.  The victim's friend of 20 years said Alexander was on her way home.

"I was with her in her last moments. I stayed with her, I laid on the ground with her and I stayed until they took her away," said Carolyn Wynos, Alexander's friend.

The crash took her life around 1 a.m. Friday.  Those close to her said Alexander lived a troubled life, but was trying to turn it around.

"We don't want her to be forgotten. We don't want her to believe that her life was just as a prostitute.  As you heard she was a mother, she had siblings, she had a family that loved her," said Nancy Banks of Fresh Start Learning.

She was in a support group and was spending time at church.  Pastor Mark Jefferson said he served Alexander dinner the night she died.

"The streets have claimed another life and so we all need to just look around and see it could be our daughters, it could someone that we know, no one is exempt," Jefferson said.

The community is standing behind this family as they beg the person responsible to come forward.  If you want to help this family visit

Police are looking for a black Chevrolet Impala.  If you would like to help the family they have a GoFundMe page set up for Alexander.
