The City of Elkhorn Police Department received a report of attempted child enticement on Thursday.

Police say an 11-year-old girl was walking home from school near the 500 block of E. First Ave. when a man in a black minivan pulled up beside her. The man told the girl that her father had been in an accident and that she should get in the vehicle with him to go to the hospital. The girl kept walking and did not respond.

The minivan the man was driving is described as black with tinted windows, bright blue coloring on the driver's side tailgate and a license plate with a picture of a sunset or sunrise.

The van was last seen heading east on E. First Avenue toward Highway 11.

Please call the Elkhorn Police Department at 262-723-2210 and ask to speak with Detective Kim Bass if you have any information on the man or the minivan. You may also call the Walworth Community Crime Stoppers at 262-723-2677 or contact them online to remain anonymous.
