MILWAUKEE -- A woman waiting outside her home to pay for a pizza delivery was robbed Thursday by a man who did yard work for her, police say.
It happened while the victim was waiting with cash in hand in front of her Bay View home.
“Someone that doesn’t have a lot of money, taking money from her, it’s just, it’s ridiculous,” said her neighbor Andrea Emmole. “It’s horrible. I mean it’s like somebody doing that to your grandmother."
Emmole was walking her dogs when the theft happened but showed up when police arrived.
“If we weren’t on a walk, if we just happened to be on the front porch and this happened to her, we would have chased him,” said Emmole.
Milwaukee police said the victim paid the suspect money for the yard work, but he returned asking for more money. When she refused, police said the man stole the cash in her hand. Police said they have a description of the man, but haven’t made any arrests.
