Driver fails to follow Move Over Law, hits another vehicle [VIDEO]

Posted

Wisconsin State Patrol dash cam video captured a crash along I-41 in Outagamie County that occurred because the driver failed to follow the Move Over Law.

A state trooper pulled over a Toyota Corolla Tuesday night for a defective headlight.

While the trooper was in his vehicle, a southbound Pontiac crossed the fog line and struck the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Pontiac did not acquire any serious injuries but will face several charges.

The Outagamie County Sheriff's Department is continuing an investigation into the accident.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reminds drivers that the Move Over Law requires drivers to change lanes or slow down when approaching emergency responders, tow trucks, utility or highway maintenance vehicles stopped along the road with warning lights on.
