The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a potential scammer posing as a member of the department.

According to a report, the scam is initiated by calling a potential victim and telling them there is a warrant out for their arrest and they need to pay a bond.

The number used in the scam was (920) 386-3320 which is not a valid DCSO number.

One deputy called the number and questioned the man who answered. He hung up the first time and after the deputy called him back, the man began swearing at the deputy.

If you have been a victim or have any information that would be useful for the DCSO, you are asked to call (920) 286-3726 and report it to a deputy.
