MINONG TOWNSHIP — The Department of Natural Resources is looking for information regarding hunters who shot a man in Washburn County Sunday.

The DNR is looking for individuals or groups who were hunting around 11 a.m. in the block of Washburn County land in Minong Township bordered by the following roads: East Sleepy Eye Road, south of Sleepy Eye Fire Land, north of Nancy Lake Road and west of CCC Road.

The 31-year-old man was shot by a single bullet. He was flown from the scene and treated without surgery, according to the DNR.

Anyone with information can confidentially relay their information by text, phone call or online to the DNR Violation Tip Line: 1-800-TIP-WDNR or 1-800-847-9367.

There were three other known hunting injuries this weekend, and all three occurred opening day, according to the DNR. In Oneida and Marathon counties, two separate incidents involved a 38-year-old male and a 29-year-old female who shot themselves in their left feet. In Fond du Lac County, a hunter shot toward a running deer and struck a 19-year-old female in the left hand.
