Even though Trader Joe's in Brookfield and Glendale closed their stores Tuesday and Wednesday, the employees still got paid.
In a confirmation to TODAY'S TMJ4, the corporate offices of Trader Joe's said while the employees scheduled to work couldn't due to the weather, they were still paid in full.
Under the Fair Labor and Standards Act, employers are not required to pay hourly employees if the business is closed due to weather. So Trader Joe's did it out of the interest of its workers.
