Dashcam video from a Milwaukee county Sheriff car shows the moments that led to the fatal shooting of a man near Bradford Beach on Sunday.

Terry Williams, 19, was shot in the head by a deputy after refusing to pull over near Water Tower Road and Lincoln Memorial Drive.

Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office Captain Daniel Hughes went over the dashcam video with reporters Friday, but didn't answer questions because the investigation is being conducted by the Waukesha Sheriff’s Office.

Hughes said a sheriff’s deputy began trailing Williams following an illegal left turn. The deputy turned on his traffic lights and directed Williams to "pull to the right" over a loudspeaker.

Williams instead took a sharp left turn between two cars and drove through the grass with the deputy following him.

The video shows pedestrians standing on the side as Williams crossed the median, makes another left turn heading north, and jumps another median.

Deputy Michael Truax, who fired the fatal shot, is shown for a split second standing in the median. Truax fired his gun at the SUV while in front of the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop.

A passenger in the car was also shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Truax, 32, was placed on administrative duty while the investigation is ongoing.
