City of Milwaukee residents now have until Nov. 22 to rake leaves into the street

CITY OF MILWAUKEE — For those City of Milwaukee residents still raking those pesky fall leaves - you are in luck.

The Department of Public Works has extended the deadline for street leaf-pickup to Sunday, Nov. 22. You have until the end of that day to do so.

The department cites the late time of year for leaves to fall from trees, plus night parking now being enforced, for the extension.

Residents are only asked to rake their leaves into the street one foot away from the curb, keep the leaves from storm drains and sewer grates, and to not place leaves in any sort of bag. That helps with composting, the department says.
