City Clerk Jim Owczarski and the License Division of the City Clerk’s are urging license holders to submit their renewal applications due to the challenges of the ongoing pandemic.

“We have seen an unusually high number of renewal applications filed after the deadline in recent weeks, creating a backlog and somewhat burying our License Division staff as they work diligently and make use of overtime, on occasion, to try to keep up,” Owczarski said.

Owczarski says the pandemic has slowed licensing process, as documents must be left in a state of quarantine before being handled by officials. Electronic documents are also causing some delays.

“Quite frankly, documents received by e-mail are often not in good order and must be corrected and brought into form over a period of time, thereby causing further delays,” Owczarski said.

Applications and payments via check can be submitted using the drop box located inside the City Hall rotunda.

Licensees can still submit an application to the License Division using one of the following options:

·Placing an application in the drop box located outside room 105 in City Hall

·Emailing an application to or

·Mailing an application to:

Office of the City Clerk, License Division
200 E. Wells St., Room 105
Milwaukee, WI 53202
