WEST ALLIS -- The children of a Hales Corners police officer are raising money to support police officers.

They opened a lemonade stand at the corner of S. 96th Street and W. Oklahoma Avenue in West Allis and want to thank police officers for their daily sacrifice.

They're donating the money they raise to the families of the Dallas and Baton Rouge shootings.

The family didn't set a goal for the fundraising but they made a little wager.

"My brother, he said we'd raise only $5 and in the first minute that we started, we raised more than that," Jack Sayeg said. "The first donation was $10 and then I said we'd raise $37, and we wiped that out too on the first day."

So far, they've raised more than $3,800 since Tuesday.

They'll be open again from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
