Car hits police while trying to arrest Milwaukee man during overnight unrest

MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee man and two Milwaukee police officers were hit by a car around 3 a.m. Thursday near the 300 block of West Locust during overnight unrest, officials said.

Police said said two officers were trying to arrest a 27-year-old man from Milwaukee for obstructing the flow of traffic when a vehicle hit all three of them.

Two of the officers fell to the ground and the man was dragged underneath the vehicle for several feet, police said. The driver did not stop and fled the scene. However, the car was found in the City of Butler around 3:45 a.m. Three people were inside the car. A 27-year-old man, a 21-year-old female, and a 23-year-old female were all arrested in connection to the hit and run.

Police said the man has serious injuries and was brought to a local hospital. He is in stable condition

Both the officers sustained non-life threatening injuries and were also brought to a hospital for treatment.
