WEST ALLIS — Candy Cane Lane, the famous West Allis drive-through light show, opens Friday for the season.
It all started in 1984, when a group of neighbors worked together to decorate their homes neighborhood for the holidays. They collected donations from visitors who drove through, and donated all the proceeds to the MACC Fund for research, treatment, and the eventual discovery of a cure for childhood cancer.
The yearly show kicks off for the season on Friday with a fund-raising goal of $100,000. Candy Cane lane runs from 96th St. to 92nd St. and Montana Ave. to Oklahoma Ave. in West Allis and show goes through Dec. 28.
