BURLINGTON — The Burlington Ice Festival is scheduled for Saturday and will feature the Wisconsin State Ice Carving Championship!

Saturday's festival is the fourth annual event and this year, Burlington's festival will be home to the Wisconsin State Ice Carving Championship.

Visitors will be able to watch as sculptors carve over a dozen ice blocks into beautiful ice sculptures.

Each sculpture will be carved from a 300-pound block of ice that has been frozen in a special process to ensure that the blocks are crystal clear. The blocks are ten inches thick, twenty inches wide, and stand forty inches tall on a wooden stand, the Burlington Ice Festival said in a press release.

The entire event is free to the public, and sculptors will be done with their carvings around 4 p.m. on December 12.
