MILWAUKEE — The Betty Brinn Children's Museum (BBCM) launched its brand-new platform for online education for children on Oct. 1.
The new platform is Play in the Cloud, powered by GLOMADO, and will allow families, students and educators to register for various hands-on workshops that are led in real-time by a museum educator or one of the GLOMADO instructors from around the world in more than 50 countries.
BMM executive director Brian King said this new platform is an exciting addition for the greater Milwaukee area.
“We are proud to introduce our cloud-based platform that extends the Museum’s educational resources to children in the Greater Milwaukee area and beyond like never before," he said. “Play in the Cloud enables us to bring impactful Museum programming and authentic cultural learning experiences right to families’ homes, as well as to students who are doing in-class instruction or remote learning.”
The workshops in this platform include hands-on art crafts including designing robots, making jewelry, creating a journal and cooking. All workshops are limited to six participants or less and many come with supplies that can be delivered right to the learner's door.
Users can browse for workshops by activity type, country, age or keyword before scheduling a time to livestream their Zoom session.
