Everyone knows about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but deep discounts happen throughout the year. It just depends on the product you're looking to buy.

Amazon show host and YouTube "deal guy" Matt Granite shares information on the sales trends.

Best time to buy plane tickets?

“Any consumer reporter telling you that you still need to buy your airfare on Tuesday is using data from approximately nine years ago," said Granite. "There's absolutely no cycle to reaffirm that those are the lowest prices. I see as many price drops on Thursday as I do on Tuesday and Sunday."

"So, the best time to buy a plane ticket is when we are in the midst of a holiday weekend, when people have already purchased their airfare. So for example, Fourth of July, the best time to buy airfare for your next upcoming getaway would be that particular weekend. Everyone is with their family and no one is thinking about spending money on airfare,” Granite said.

Best time to buy gas?

“The big things we typically see before a long holiday weekend, any time you see a AAA forecast telling you how many people are going to be on the road, that's generally when gas is at its highest," said Granite. "Once those weekends begin, gas prices drop a little bit and obviously the gas stations that are closest to major intersections, highway off ramps, those have the highest prices. Sometimes when you drive a little bit further into the community or away from an airport, you are going to find a much lower price. One cool thing to keep in mind, if you are a T-mobile subscriber, they offer weekly coupons if you are driving and need to buy gas. They have the most aggressive discounts per gallon than any other provider or coupon that I've seen."

Best time to buy groceries?

“The best time to shop at a grocery store is generally end of the week. You'll see more incentives for the weekend," said Granite. "If you happen to find yourself at a grocery store on Saturday, that's what I call retail desperation day. Every promotion a grocery store can possibly throw at you will appear on that day."
