CEDARBURG -- It is the biggest decision an officer can make. A detective sergeant with the Cedarburg Police Department showed us how their officers are trained to stop a threat.
"If somebody is threatening us or if somebody is a threat we have the ability and the legal right to go one step ahead in use of force," said Det. Sgt. Mike McNerney.
TODAY'S TMJ4 has an exclusive look at the simulator officers use to train how to make those split-second decisions.
This includes the type of weapon they choose in each scenario and where they are aiming when they shoot their weapon.
"We just never know what we're walking into," said Officer Ben Buckenberger, Cedarburg Police Department.
