MILWAUKEE — For those that hit the roads or left from Mitchell International Airport earlier than the bulk of travelers, it was smooth sailing.

Tuesday afternoon, very few flights were delayed at Mitchell despite the weather issues out west.

Some people ran into traffic on the way to the airport.

"A lot of traffic coming in with the rush hour and the rain and all that fun stuff but we made it, got here on time," said Christa Suter.

On the roads, mild temperatures meant mostly rain for drivers in Southeastern Wisconsin. "It's not bad for sure but it's getting worse as we progress towards Minneapolis," said Agnes Lasu who is traveling from Ohio to Minnesota.

Meteorologists say the worst travel times out of Milwaukee to the west will be the overnight and early hours Tuesday into Wednesday. The Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area could see a foot of snow.
